Nike has launched a training shoe that pays homage to Plant High School’s football team, which has won four state titles since 2006.
The Zoom Speed TR2 comes in the school’s colors, black and gold, with “Plant” written on the back heel and the school’s motto, “Strength Through Unity” on the inside tongue.
The school’s panther mascot is represented with several gold paw prints.
The shoes cost $100 and are available at Nike.com.
The Panthers have gone 120-22-1 since Robert Weiner took over as head coach in 2004, winning nine straight district titles.
This season, Plant is 7-1 going into Friday’s Class 8A-District 6 game against Wharton.
